Privacy Policy
Episode Bingo, operated by Broctic Inc. · Last updated 9 September 2026
Episode Bingo is a game two people play together while they watch a TV show. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we need it, how long we keep it, and how to get rid of it. We collect the minimum the game needs and nothing else.
What we collect
Your name and email from sign-in. You sign in with Apple or Google. They give us a display name, an email address and a stable identifier for your account. If you use Sign in with Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the private relay address, which is fine — we use it to reach you about your account, nothing else.
Your account. An account id, your display name and your avatar emoji.
Your pairing. Which couple you belong to, the six-character invite code for it, and who the other member is. Pairing is what lets two phones play one episode.
What the two of you create. The shows on your list, the cast names you type in for the current season, any custom squares, prompts or stakes you write, and every episode session: marks, predictions, roster events, outcomes, scores and IOUs. This is the game itself; without it there is no scoreboard.
Subscription status. Whether Episode Bingo Plus is active, which plan, and when it renews. Purchases are made through Apple and verified with Apple. We never see or store your card details.
Anonymous product-usage events. Counts of things like "an episode was started" or "a paywall was seen", sent to Broctic analytics, our own analytics service. These are not linked to your identity, are not used for advertising, are never used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and are never sold or shared with data brokers.
Server logs. Ordinary request logs — IP address, path, timing, an error if one happened — used for security, rate limiting and debugging.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show ads. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To pair you with your partner and run an episode across two phones.
- To keep your season scoreboard, IOUs and history.
- To unlock Plus for both of you when either of you subscribes.
- To prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and fix things that break.
- To understand, in aggregate, which parts of the game people actually use.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the app for us, and only so they can do that: our hosting and database providers, Apple and Google for sign-in, and Apple for subscription verification. They act on our instructions. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Account, pairing, shows and sessions: for as long as your account exists.
- Subscription records: for as long as your account exists, plus what tax and accounting rules require us to keep.
- Server logs: about 30 days.
- Anonymous usage events: in aggregate, indefinitely — there is nothing in them to tie back to you.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Us → Delete account. That removes your account, your sign-in links, your name and email, and your half of the couple, immediately and irreversibly. Sessions you played with your partner are kept for their scoreboard with your side attributed to a deleted account, so their season history does not fall apart.
Prefer email? Write to support@episodebingo.com from the address on the account and we will do it for you.
Children
Episode Bingo is not for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Sessions are signed tokens, every request re-checks that you are still a member of the couple whose data you are asking for, and subscription receipts are verified against Apple's signatures rather than trusted from the device. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to complain to a regulator. Email us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above, and for anything material we will tell you in the app.
